What is ADHD?

Symptoms are usually present from early childhood and affect daily functioning. Both children and adults can have ADHD and there can be differences in how this presents in males and females.

Combined Assessment

ADHD symptoms can sometimes overlap with traits of autism, such as sensory sensitivities, social communication differences or repetitive behaviours. Lycali provides combined ADHD + Autism assessments for both children and adults. These allow you to explore whether one, both, or neither diagnosis apply, supported by detailed clinical tools, comprehensive reports, and a multidisciplinary approach.

Child ADHD and ASD Assessment - £2300
Adult ADHD and ASD Assessment - £1995

We now offer the Qb Check. QbCheck is an ADHD test that is both CE marked and FDA/TGA cleared for use as an aid in the assessment and treatment evaluation of ADHD for people aged 6 to 60 years old.

The Qb Check provides objective, unbiased data to professionals, giving them a better view of ADHD. The objective data from QbCheck, alongside the clinical interview, will allow for clear, concise depictions of difficulty, away from the norm and improve understanding of treatment options.

The Qb Check assessment can be included as part of your assessment for an additional £300.

What to expect in an ADHD Assessment

An ADHD assessment at Lycali consists of a structured clinical assessment for ADHD using gold-standard diagnostic assessment tools. The assessment is conducted by a multi-disciplinary team including a clinical psychologist.

The informant (someone who knows you or your child well) will meet virtually or face-to-face with one of our experienced clinicians to complete one component of the ADHD assessment. The clinician will take a detailed assessment of presenting symptoms, how the symptoms have developed over time, past medical history, developmental history, and family history. This lasts for approximately 45-60 minutes.

Teacher (child only assessments)

A questionnaire will be provided to school to complete. This is used to get a better objective understanding of how your child’s ADHD symptoms may have affected them in a learning context (school/ college etc).

One clinician will meet with you or your child and conduct an informal clinical observation and another component of the ADHD diagnostic assessment tool. This comprises a set of questions and lasts for approximately 60 minutes (if required, the questions can be differentiated to meet the individual’s expressive and receptive language skills).
