Dara Stoianovici

Consultant in Behaviour Analysis

About Dara Stoianovici

Dara is an experienced Consultant in Behaviour Analysis with 11 years experience in the field, with a strong academic foundation and a passion for supporting children and young people with behavioural, developmental, and communication needs. Her work spans home, school, and clinical settings, with both in-person and remote options available. Dara is known for her compassionate, evidence-based approach and her commitment to developing meaningful, practical outcomes for each child and their family. Dara has an experience as a Senior Lecturer in Health and Social Care and Psychotherapy at a London University and has a vast experience in delivering lectures on topics such as: behaviour analysis, psychology and psychotherapy, module units and module development and supervising ABA therapists, parents and lecturers across therapy implementation and unit delivery and teaching.

Dara holds a Master of Science in Cognitive Clinical Neuroscience, a Master’s in Behaviour Analysis from Florida, and a Postgraduate Certification in Clinical Psychology and Family Psychotherapy. This unique combination of studies enables her to bring a holistic, neurodevelopmental understanding to her work, integrating behavioural science with family systems theory and clinical psychology.

She is trained in a range of leading behavioural assessments, including the VB-MAPP, PEAK, ABLLS-R, and the Essential for Living (EFL) framework. Dara uses these tools to conduct comprehensive assessments and design individualised therapy plans that target communication, learning, daily living, and behaviour regulation goals. Her support is always tailored, practical, and rooted in collaboration with families, schools, and multidisciplinary teams.

Dara is particularly skilled in developing functional behaviour assessments, toilet training plans, and mand training for early communicators with speech and language challenges. She provides parent and tutor training, ensuring consistent strategies across environments, and offers remote consultation and coaching for families who live at a distance or prefer flexible delivery.

Her services also include training and workshops, supervision, report writing for Annual Reviews and EHCPs, and regular attendance at multi-disciplinary (MDT) and EHCP meetings, supporting cohesive care across all stakeholders.

Why Dara chose Behaviour Analysis as a career

Dara’s interest in human behaviour and brain function began with her undergraduate studies in psychology, which led her to pursue a Master’s in Cognitive Clinical Neuroscience. Her passion for understanding learning, emotion, and development soon directed her toward Behaviour Analysis, where she found an effective, ethical framework to create real change for individuals and families.

Through both personal and professional experiences, Dara became increasingly invested in supporting children with autism, ADHD, and communication difficulties. Her additional studies in Clinical Psychology and Family Psychotherapy have further shaped her ability to work holistically with families, ensuring that both behavioural and emotional needs are recognised and addressed.

Dara’s approach is calm, collaborative, and always person-centred. She values building strong relationships with the children and families she works with and is deeply motivated by the progress they make together.
