Child Neurodivergent Coaching (14+) & Psychoeducation Support
Thank you for choosing Lycali. We provide practical, strengths-based and neuro-affirming support for young people aged 14 and over, helping them build self-understanding, confidence, independence, self-advocacy and strategies that work in everyday life.
Important: Before Your First Session
All required registration, consent and pre-session questionnaires must be completed before any coaching or support session can take place.
Please read your welcome letter, terms and conditions and invoice, and ensure all mandatory forms have been submitted.
Missing documentation may result in your first session needing to be rearranged.
At a Glance
Follow the stages below to understand how coaching and psychoeducation support will be arranged.
Initial Enquiry & Registration
When you contact Lycali, our team will discuss the young person's individual needs and the type of coaching or psychoeducation support they are seeking.
We may ask about their strengths, interests, daily challenges, previous support and personal goals.
If you decide to proceed, the relevant registration process will be completed so that we can securely create the young person's record within our clinical management system.
- Young person's personal and contact details.
- Parent/carer information where appropriate.
- Relevant developmental and support history.
- Education or training information.
- Communication and accessibility preferences.
- Consent and parental responsibility information where relevant.
Please let us know if the young person has any communication preferences, reasonable adjustments or accessibility requirements that may help them participate comfortably.
Your Welcome Letter & Documents
Following registration, Lycali will issue a welcome letter explaining the next steps and session arrangements.
The welcome information will include the following documents.
Terms & Conditions
Information about the service, session arrangements, payment, cancellations, confidentiality and responsibilities.
Invoice
Confirmation of the agreed support fees, payment requirements and additional charges, if they apply.
Consent to Treatment
The relevant consent documentation for coaching or psychoeducation, completed by the appropriate person.
Please carefully review the documentation and complete all mandatory forms before the first session.
Please also follow the payment instructions provided in your invoice.
No coaching or psychoeducation session can take place until all required forms are completed.
Payment & Session Booking
Your invoice will confirm the agreed support package or individual session fees and payment instructions.
Once payment has been received and the required documentation completed, Lycali can confirm or progress session arrangements.
Our administration team will confirm dates, times and whether sessions will be delivered online, at a clinic or another agreed location.
Please check the appointment information, complete all requested questionnaires and share any relevant accessibility requirements.
Pre-Session Questionnaires Through WriteUpp
Before coaching begins, we will request relevant background and support information to help personalise the sessions.
All required questionnaires will be issued through WriteUpp, Lycali's clinical management system.
Questionnaire links will be sent separately. Please complete these before attending the first session.
Child Developmental History Questionnaire
This explores the young person's developmental history, educational experiences, wellbeing, learning profile, individual strengths, challenges and everyday functioning.
Psychoeducation, Coaching & Therapeutic Support Questionnaire
This explores the young person's goals, interests, organisation, planning, executive functioning, emotional regulation, confidence, independence, self-advocacy and support preferences.
The information helps the practitioner tailor the support to what matters most to the young person.
Please make sure that sufficient uninterrupted time has been set aside to complete each questionnaire in one sitting.
Questionnaires cannot be saved part-way through or resubmitted once submitted.
Please review responses carefully before selecting Submit.
Allow Enough Time
Set aside time and have relevant background information available before starting.
Cannot Save Progress
Partially completed questionnaires cannot be saved and resumed later.
One Submission Only
Once submitted, the questionnaire cannot be resubmitted using the same link.
If you would like a copy of submitted questionnaire responses, please contact Lycali.
We can share a copy, subject to appropriate identity and information-sharing checks.
If you notice an error after submission, please contact our team so it can be addressed.
All required questionnaires, registration information and consent documentation must be completed before coaching sessions can begin.
Additional Questionnaires & Measures
Depending on the young person's individual needs, the practitioner may recommend additional measures to support goal setting or track progress over time.
- Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ).
- Emotional wellbeing measures.
- Goal-setting questionnaires.
- Executive functioning measures.
- Self-reflection and progress questionnaires.
Any required questionnaires will be issued through WriteUpp.
Please check your email inbox, junk and spam folders for any correspondence.
These help identify priorities, reflect on progress and decide whether strategies need adapting.
They are not, by themselves, diagnostic assessments.
If a questionnaire is requested before a scheduled session, it must be completed in advance.
Your Initial Coaching Session
The first session focuses on getting to know the young person, establishing a supportive relationship and identifying what they would like to achieve through coaching.
Sessions are collaborative and adapted to individual communication preferences, strengths and needs.
- Building rapport and understanding preferences.
- Exploring neurodivergence and individual differences.
- Identifying strengths and interests.
- Discussing goals and priorities.
- Exploring current barriers or challenges.
- Agreeing practical areas for support.
- Developing an initial coaching plan.
- Discussing adjustments and support needs.
Coaching is primarily directed towards the young person.
Parents, carers or other trusted supporters may attend part of the initial session where appropriate and agreed.
The practitioner will discuss confidentiality, information sharing and involvement of others in a way that is appropriate to the young person's age and circumstances.
Ongoing Coaching & Psychoeducation Sessions
Ongoing sessions are personalised and focused on practical strategies, greater self-understanding and progress towards meaningful goals.
- Understanding neurodivergent strengths and needs.
- Executive functioning and organisation.
- Planning and time management.
- Task initiation and completing activities.
- Managing overwhelm and emotional regulation.
- Confidence and self-esteem.
- Communication and relationships.
- Self-advocacy and expressing support needs.
- Education, training or employment preparation.
- Daily routines and independent living skills.
- Decision-making and problem-solving.
- Managing transitions and change.
Strategies may be explored between sessions and reviewed collaboratively. The aim is to identify approaches that fit the young person's real life rather than expecting them to follow a fixed method.
Coaching focuses on practical goals, skills and everyday strategies.
Psychoeducation helps the young person understand their neurodivergent profile and support needs.
Coaching is not a diagnostic assessment or a replacement for specialist psychological or mental health treatment.
If wider therapeutic support appears more appropriate, Lycali can discuss suitable next steps.
Progress Review & Next Steps
Goals and strategies will be reviewed throughout the agreed support period.
Towards the end of the sessions, the practitioner will discuss progress and possible next steps.
- Goals achieved or progress made.
- Strategies the young person finds helpful.
- Changes in confidence or independence.
- Remaining areas of difficulty.
- Strategies to continue using.
- Any additional support needs.
- Whether further sessions may be helpful.
Where appropriate, an ongoing action plan or practical recommendations may be developed to support continued progress.
If additional coaching, psychoeducation or another Lycali service is recommended, this will be discussed separately.
Any further sessions and associated fees will be agreed before booking.
Session Fees & Additional Charges (If They Apply)
The cost of the agreed coaching or psychoeducation sessions will be confirmed before booking and outlined in your invoice.
Please refer to our published fees page for current session and package prices.
Some appointments may involve additional travel or external clinic hire costs.
These charges do not apply to every appointment.
They may be relevant where a practitioner travels to another agreed location or where external clinic facilities need to be hired away from Lycali's main Broadstairs base.
If any additional charges apply, they will be confirmed before booking and clearly outlined in your invoice.

The full late-cancellation charge will not apply where sufficient notice is given.
Less Than 24 Hours' Notice

Did Not Attend (DNA)
If the young person does not attend a booked session and it has not been cancelled, this will be recorded as a Did Not Attend (DNA).
DNA sessions are charged at the full booked session rate.
