Jodie Sills

Speech & Language Therapist

About Jodie

Jodie is a Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist with over 10 years’ experience supporting children and young people with speech, language and communication needs across the NHS, education, alternative provision and private practice.

She has extensive experience working with children and young people in mainstream schools, colleges and alternative provision, with a particular interest in developmental language disorder (DLD), social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, and supporting neurodivergent children and young people. Jodie has a strong understanding of the impact that speech, language and communication needs can have on learning, emotional wellbeing and engagement in education.

Jodie has a wealth of experience contributing to Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) processes, including assessment, report writing and providing recommendations to support children and young people to access education. She also works closely with families, education staff and other professionals to ensure that support is practical, meaningful and embedded into everyday environments.

Her approach is collaborative, strengths-based and neuro-affirming, with a focus on understanding the individual and identifying ways to support their communication. Jodie values understanding each child and young person’s individual communication style and preferences, while supporting the people around them to understand how they communicate and how best to support them.
