Lisa Coldwell
Dyslexia Assessor
About Lisa
Lisa is a Specialist Dyslexia Assessor with over 25 years of experience working within education. She holds an Assessment Practising Certificate (APC) and Associate Membership of the British Dyslexia Association (AMBDA), demonstrating her expertise in conducting comprehensive diagnostic dyslexia assessments and providing evidence-based recommendations.
Beginning her career as a teacher, Lisa later progressed into senior Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) roles, where she developed extensive experience supporting children and young people with a wide range of learning differences and additional needs. Her interest in dyslexia grew through undertaking dyslexia screening and intervention work within schools, leading her to complete specialist postgraduate training in dyslexia assessment and teaching.
Alongside her assessment work with Lycali, Lisa continues to work within education, ensuring she remains up to date with current legislation, SEND guidance, examination access arrangements, and best practice within schools and colleges. Her experience across both educational and assessment settings enables her to provide thorough, person-centred assessments that identify an individual's strengths as well as areas of difficulty.
Lisa is qualified to undertake diagnostic dyslexia assessments for children and young people up to the age of 18. Her assessments are designed to provide clarity, understanding and practical recommendations to support educational achievement, confidence and long-term success.
