Lycali Nominated for a National Diversity Award 2026

We are incredibly proud to announce that Lycali Therapies & Assessment Ltd has been nominated for a 2026 National Diversity Award.

This nomination means so much to us because it represents something bigger than Lycali itself — the growing recognition of the importance of neurodiversity-affirming support, inclusive communities and accessible services for neurodivergent individuals and families.

Why Lycali Was Created

Lycali was created to help bridge the gaps that many neurodivergent people experience when trying to access assessment, understanding and ongoing support.

As a specialist service based in Kent, we support children, young people and adults across:

  • Thanet

  • Broadstairs

  • Ramsgate

  • Margate

  • Whitstable

  • and nationwide through online services

At Lycali, we believe neurodivergent individuals deserve services that are:

  • Neuro-affirming

  • Compassionate

  • Accessible

  • Person-centred

  • Focused on strengths as well as challenges

We also believe support should not stop after diagnosis.

More Than Assessments

Alongside autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dyscalculia and speech and language services, we are passionate about building meaningful post-diagnostic support and community connection.

Many individuals and families tell us that after receiving a diagnosis, they are often left asking:

  • “What happens next?”

  • “How do I support myself or my child?”

  • “Where can we find understanding and community?”

This is one of the reasons we developed initiatives such as the Lycali Access to Support Fund.

The Lycali Access to Support Fund

The Lycali Access to Support Fund was created to improve access to support for neurodivergent individuals and families who may otherwise struggle to access services.

Through the fund, we have been able to offer funded psychoeducation and support opportunities designed to help people:

  • Better understand their neurodivergence

  • Build confidence and practical strategies

  • Feel less isolated

  • Access supportive, neuro-affirming guidance

The response to the fund has shown just how significant the need is for accessible neurodivergent support services across Kent and beyond.

Creating Neurodivergent Community Spaces

Community and connection are incredibly important to us at Lycali.

We currently host a monthly ADHD Coffee Morning for women in collaboration with The Grain Grocer. The coffee morning provides a welcoming and understanding environment where neurodivergent women can connect with others who share similar experiences.

These spaces matter.

Feeling understood, accepted and connected can have a huge impact on wellbeing and mental health.

As Lycali continues to grow, we hope to expand our community-focused support even further through:

  • Additional coffee mornings and support groups

  • Workshops and psychoeducation events

  • Downloadable resources and guides

  • Community partnerships

  • Neurodiversity awareness initiatives

  • Accessible support opportunities across Kent and online

This nomination feels like encouragement to continue building those spaces and supports for the neurodivergent community.

Why Neurodiversity Awareness Matters

Greater neurodiversity awareness helps create:

  • More inclusive schools

  • Better workplace understanding

  • Earlier identification of needs

  • Reduced stigma

  • Improved wellbeing

  • Better long-term outcomes for neurodivergent people

But awareness alone is not enough.

It must lead to understanding, acceptance, practical support and meaningful change.

At Lycali, we remain committed to continuing that work through assessments, therapy, advocacy, psychoeducation and community support.

Thank You

We want to say a heartfelt thank you to every individual, family, organisation and professional who has supported Lycali so far.

This nomination belongs to the wider neurodivergent community just as much as it belongs to us.

We are incredibly excited for what comes next and look forward to continuing to grow services, resources and community initiatives that genuinely make a difference.
