The Lycali Access to Support Fund

Bridging the Gap After Diagnosis: Why Support Matters

For many individuals and families, receiving a diagnosis of autism, ADHD, or dyslexia is a significant moment - one that brings clarity, understanding, and often relief.

But what happens next?

Across the UK, and particularly in areas such as Kent, including Ramsgate, Margate, Broadstairs and Canterbury, many families are left navigating the post-diagnostic stage alone.

Long waiting lists, limited follow-up services, and uncertainty about next steps mean that support can feel out of reach, even after a diagnosis has been confirmed.

This is where the Lycali Access to Support Fund was created to make a difference.

What is the Lycali Access to Support Fund?

The Lycali Access to Support Fund is a monthly initiative designed to improve access to neurodevelopmental support.

Each month, Lycali offers:

  • Six fully funded post-diagnostic support sessions

  • For one individual or child/family

  • Following autism, ADHD, or dyslexia diagnosis

This support is available:

  • In person across Kent

  • Online nationwide across the UK (subject to suitability)

Not Means-Tested - Open to All

One of the most important aspects of the Lycali Support Fund is that it is not means-tested.

Support is not determined solely by income.

Instead, applications are reviewed based on:

  • Level of need

  • Impact on daily life

  • Access to current support

  • Suitability for the programme

Because access to the right support should not depend purely on financial circumstances.

Who Can the Fund Support?

The Lycali Support Fund is typically suitable for:

  • Children aged 7+

  • Young people and adults

  • Individuals who are verbal and able to engage in structured sessions

  • Those who have received a diagnosis or identification of autism, ADHD, or dyslexia

It is particularly helpful for individuals and families who:

  • Feel unsure what to do next after diagnosis

  • Are struggling with day-to-day challenges

  • Would benefit from structured guidance and support

Why Post-Diagnostic Support is So Important

Diagnosis is not the end of the journey. It is the beginning.

Without appropriate support, individuals may continue to experience:

  • Difficulties in school or work

  • Emotional distress or overwhelm

  • Challenges with routines, behaviour, or organisation

  • A lack of understanding from others

Psychoeducation and post-diagnostic support are widely recognised as key parts of effective care.

They help individuals and families:

  • Understand the diagnosis

  • Build practical strategies

  • Increase confidence

  • Improve day-to-day functioning

How the Application Process Works

The Lycali Support Fund runs on a monthly cycle:

  • Applications are open throughout the month

  • Applications close at the end of each month

  • The selected applicant is contacted by the 7th of the following month

  • Sessions begin in the following month (dependent on clinician and individual avialability)

This structured approach ensures fairness and consistency.

Successful applicants will receive:

  • Six structured support sessions

  • Tailored post-diagnostic guidance

  • Practical strategies for home, school, or work
