Psychoeducation, Coaching & Therapeutic Support Questionnaire

This questionnaire helps us understand your child's emotional wellbeing, strengths, goals, support needs and any areas of difficulty that may be impacting daily life, learning, confidence or relationships.

The information gathered helps us tailor support to your child and family and ensures sessions focus on the areas that matter most to you.

Additional Measures

Depending on your child's age, presentation and support needs, additional questionnaires may be requested to help us gain a fuller understanding of their emotional wellbeing and everyday functioning.

Examples may include:
  • Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ)
  • Child self-report questionnaires
  • Emotional wellbeing measures
  • Goal-setting questionnaires
  • Parent questionnaires

Initial Psychoeducation Session

The first session focuses on understanding your child's strengths, support needs, goals and priorities.

The initial session may include:
  • Understanding neurodivergence and individual differences
  • Exploring strengths and interests
  • Understanding emotions and behaviours
  • Identifying current challenges
  • Developing practical support strategies
  • Creating personalised goals
  • Supporting self-awareness and confidence

Parents or carers will usually attend all or part of the first appointment to help ensure support is tailored to the child's needs and family circumstances.

Ongoing Psychoeducation Support Sessions

Future sessions are personalised to the child or young person and may focus on:

  • Understanding autism, ADHD, dyslexia or other neurodivergent differences
  • Emotional regulation and coping strategies
  • Self-esteem and confidence building
  • Friendships and relationships
  • Managing school-related challenges
  • Executive functioning skills
  • Anxiety management strategies
  • Communication and self-advocacy
  • Developing independence
  • Family understanding and support
Psychoeducation is designed to help children and families better understand themselves, build on strengths, develop practical strategies and improve confidence in everyday life.
