  • At Lycali, assessment and advocacy work together to ensure people are understood, supported and able to access the adjustments they need to thrive. 

    Sometimes people know something is not working in their life, but it can be difficult to clearly identify what the challenges are, why they are happening, and what support might help. 

    Lycali’s Functional Needs Assessments provide a structured way to explore how a person’s needs affect their everyday functioning, work, home life and overall wellbeing. 

    These assessments focus on real-life impact, rather than diagnosis alone. They explore how factors such as neurodivergence, stress, environment, sensory demands and executive functioning interact with everyday responsibilities. 

  • These assessments may be helpful for adults who: 

    • have a diagnosis of Autism, ADHD, AuDHD or similar, or are awaiting assessment 

    • feel overwhelmed, burnt out, or are struggling to cope 

    • are finding work or daily life difficult but cannot clearly explain why 

    • have been told they are “managing” despite significant effort 

    • need clear evidence of functional impact 

    • want support to prevent crisis rather than reach it 

  • Advocacy is powerful, but effective advocacy relies on clear evidence. 

    A specialist assessment helps to: 

    • identify what the needs actually are 

    • explain why difficulties occur 

    • link diagnosis to real-life impact 

    • provide professional, structured documentation 

    This means advocacy becomes evidence-led, not just voice-led. 

    • organisation and executive functioning 

    • daily routines and responsibilities 
      stress and emotional regulation.

    • managing appointments and life administration 

    • environmental and sensory factors that affect functioning

    • work or study pressures where relevant 

    The outcome is a clear, structured report that helps individuals better understand their needs and communicate these with employers, professionals or services where needed. 

    We offer three levels of functional assessment depending on the depth of support required. 

  • A Life Functioning Skills Summary 
    Identification of key priority areas 
    Practical recommendations and strategies 
    Guidance on possible next steps if further support may be helpful 

    For some people, this assessment provides enough clarity and practical guidance to move forward. 
    For others, it may help identify whether a more detailed Functional Needs Assessment or workplace assessment would be beneficial.

  • If you feel overwhelmed by daily life, a Life Functioning Skills Assessment may be a good starting point. 
    If your main difficulty relates to work, a Workplace Needs Assessment may be more appropriate. 
    If challenges affect many areas of daily life, a Home & Daily Living Functional Needs Assessment may be helpful. 

  • A Functional Needs Assessment may be helpful if you feel something isn’t working in your daily life or work but are unsure why. The assessment helps identify how your needs affect everyday functioning and what support may help. 

  • No. Many people seek assessments to better understand their needs, whether or not they have a formal diagnosis. 

  • The assessment involves a structured conversation exploring areas such as routines, organisation, stress, environment, and daily responsibilities. The outcome is a written report outlining strengths, challenges and practical recommendations. 

  • Following the assessment you will receive a report with recommendations. Some people use this information for personal understanding, while others may use it to support conversations with employers, services, or professionals.

  • The fees are an accurate guide, but can vary depending on the service required. Please contact us for an individualised quotation.

    *When applicable, we can provide means-tested discounts. If you're experiencing financial difficulties, please inform us, and we'll assess whether we can assist in covering part of the service expenses.

  • We accept payments via BACS Transfer.

  • We accept credit and debit card payments via Stripe for your convenience.

    Please note that card payments are subject to a 2.99% processing fee, which will be added to the invoice total to cover transaction costs.

    All payments are processed securely through Stripe, a trusted global payment provider.

  • For assessment services, we offer the option to pay in two instalments. The total fee can be split into two payments of 50%:

    • 50% is payable at the time of booking to secure your assessment appointment.

    • The remaining 50% is due upon completion of the assessment, prior to the release of the final report.

    There is no additional fee if paying via BACS.

    Please note that any applicable card or Buy Now, Pay Later processing fees will be added if these payment methods are used.

  • If your assessment or therapy expenses are set to be covered by your private medical insurance, kindly provide us with your insurer details for seamless payment coordination between you and your insurance provider. Our affiliation encompasses registration with Aviva, AXA, BUPA and Vitality Health, facilitating a streamlined process for your convenience.

  • We are pleased to offer flexible payment options to make accessing our services easier. Clients can choose to pay via Klarna or PayPal “Buy Now, Pay Later”, subject to approval by the payment provider.

    Please note that payments made using Klarna or PayPal Pay Later will incur an additional 4.99% processing fee, which will be added to the invoice total to cover transaction costs.

    Availability of these payment options is subject to eligibility and approval by Klarna or PayPal, and we are unable to influence or guarantee approval decisions.
